Have a great new name for Belles - MaBelles!  Get it?

Steve was holding Grandma CoCo and Ma Belles on the sofa.  Every time I went to take a picture of CoCo, she smiled!  Pictures to follow.  CoCo has never done that before.

Of course, Belles seems to have changed her personality after having the puppies!  She is playing and bothering CoCo more like she is a puppy (maybe this is her second childhood)!  She was quiet and hadn't had a personality totally emerge yet.

She has really had playing with CoCo which is good because CoCo needs to drop a few pounds.  We haven't been able to take walks in the last four months.  We didn't want to expose Belles to anything while she was pregnant outside the house, except for Fourth of July trip to Lubbock to see Steve's family.  We returned from the trip, and a week later we had puppies!  It wasn't the smartest thing to do, but we made it through the event.  But nevermore!

Debra came over to the house yesterday.  She is a realtor.  We were planning on having lunch, then going Maggie shopping.  Well, she had a call and had to go show a house.  So, we went Maggie shopping first, came home and cleaned up the pen and kids, then had dinner.  Debra helped me was them and showed her how to change fix up the pen.  After all, it is only 11 days before Maggie goes to live with her.

In fact, it wasn't a good sign when we saw the carpet from the puppy pen hanging on the fence in the driveway.  We knew there had been a major problem.  Steve said, he had to spray it off with the hose!
Hmmmmm....... Didn't ask any questions.  Knew it was bad because he had the Living Air turned on.

I had more puppy activities planned for the day - basically photo session - but we had some rain in the morning.  So, the photo session was cancelled.

Debra and I ended up making Peach Cobbler with Almond Flour and White Rice Flour instead of processed Wheat Flour.  Then, we tackled ice cream since we had more peaches.  We used Almond Milk and Heavy Whipping Cream (which was in the refrigerator because I put cream on my grocery list and didn't specify).  Of course, I didn't know Steve would be going to the grocery store for me, but he asked what he could pick up.  I had forgotten that I hadn't spelled it out.

Well, everything is an experiment these days trying not to use processed flour!

FOOD

I have been checking into the Blue Buffalo situation.

My vet indicated you could find reports out there on any company.  While at Petsmart, Debra and I spoke to the manager.  He said, it is very unlikely to have problems with the food.  When companies make enough food to distribute to stores like Petsmart, they have multiple plants where the food is made.  He stated, it is rare to have a problem, but it there is a problem they will pull it immediately from the shelves.  He indicated, it might be one pallet of food which goes to a particular store which actually has a problem and the media/internet blows it out of proportion.

Note:  The vet did state this food is richer than he would like to see.  This might explain why the poops aren't as firm as usual.

The vet said, if I'm not seeing a problem, then don't change the puppies' food.  You want to feed the puppies what the mother ate for at least nine months.  It upsets the flora and fauna in their digestive systems.  After nine months (without any problems with the food), then you can change.  But you need to do it slowly which will be covered in the CAIRN PUPPY MANUAL!

I try and feed them food which doesn't contain grain.  I have learned I'm allergic to Whole Wheat recently which I have been told by a DO isn't uncommon.  When you go off wheat products, there is a difference you begin to realize.  Before this, I stopped a long time ago feeding my dogs any grain products or products with fillers.

If you buy Old Roy in Wal-Mart, you will find your dog poops more.  With the better food, you won't have as much poop and will be taking care of your dog better.
